You can recognize a pilot's watch pretty quickly. It is elegant, often has several displays, e.g. a stopwatch and a speedometer, and usually shows either an airplane or an aviation group.
If you wear a pilot's watch, it shows others your interest in technology or flying and gives you a feeling of being part of the aviation community. In addition, it's fun to wear the watch and enjoy it yourself, which is the most important thing in my opinion.
The watch is currently available to buy with three different jets - the Eurofighter, the F35 and the Tornado.
All three are currently very important for Germany, which is why I chose them.
The Panavia Tornado, Germany's oldest military jet currently in service, is already considered legendary. It was first used 43 years ago and still performs well. The Tornado was built for low-level flying. With his low-altitude flight and reconnaissance skills, he was always an important part of the German air fleet.
The Eurofighter Typhoon, Germany's multi-role fighter aircraft, was built in collaboration between Great Britain, Spain, Italy and Germany. Originally intended as an interceptor, it now takes on tasks to establish and maintain air superiority. Due to its incredibly large "thrust-to-weight ratio" The Eurofighter is extremely agile in dogfights, making it a very impressive military jet.
The Lockheed-Martin F-35 Lightning II, the most modern military jet in the world, will soon be part of the German air fleet. Its greatest strengths are its stealth properties (the ability to be almost “invisible” on radar) and its digital networking. The F-35 is scheduled to be used in Germany from 2028.
The biggest flaw that bothered me about “conventional” pilot watches is the price.
The price often starts at 500 euros and rises to several thousand euros for an automatic drive.
I wanted to make pilot watches affordable for everyone who wants to wear a modern, individually designed pilot watch with their favorite jet on their wrist.
In addition, my price-performance ratio opens up the possibility of using these watches as a gift.
Whether for fighter jet pilots, people who are interested in jets or work in the field of aviation - this watch is suitable for every occasion!
Here is a list of what is included with each order:
Lambda-Watches pilot watch
Watch box
Instructions / business card
Optional: a watch stand
The additional decorative material shown (e.g. helmet, models) is not included in the scope of delivery.
To start the watch, remove the white plastic side stopper and press the crown into the case.
Setting date:
Carefully pull the crown into the first position.
Turn the crown clockwise to set the correct day of the month. Make sure there is no “click”. All you have to do is pull the crown out a millimeter.
Setting time:
Pull the crown into the second position.
Turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the hands.
Timekeeping:
Start and stop the time measurement with the top button. The bottom button can be used to display intermediate times during time measurement.
If you press it again, the current total time will be displayed again.
After the time has stopped, the time measurement is reset with the bottom button.
If the time measurement lasts longer than one minute, the tenth of a second display stops turning to conserve the battery. The seconds display and the jet that shows the minutes remain.
Jet rotation:
With each time measurement, the jet also starts to rotate.
The following applies: One revolution is 60 stopped minutes.
When resetting the stopped time, the lower seconds display rotates back until the jet is in the original position.
Adjustment of the tenth and second hands (time measurement):
When the middle crown is pulled into the second position, the associated tenths and seconds hands of the time measurement can be adjusted by pressing the upper and lower buttons.
This can help, on the one hand, if one of the hands does not point exactly upwards, and on the other hand, if a time measurement should start at a certain time. (For example, 30 seconds)
All pilot watches on offer are still battery operated.
This is of course included and installed. They usually last at least 2 years, but usually longer.
If the battery is empty, you can visit the nearest watchmaker in your area and have the battery changed cheaply.
The watches from Lambda-Watches are waterproof up to 3ATM.
This means the watch is splash-proof. You can wear the watch in the rain, do sports with it or wash your hands. However, it is not suitable for bathing or swimming.
